Overview: Join The Modern Group, a leader in the Energy industry, as we seek a dedicated Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to enhance our financial strategy and operational efficiency. This position is based in Beaumont, TX, where you will be instrumental in driving our financial planning processes, ensuring robust analysis, and contributing to our strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting revenue, expenses, and capital expenditures. Prepare budget-to-actual variance analyses to guide management decisions.
- Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of long-range financial plans in conjunction with strategic business planning, including scenario analysis to support business growth initiatives.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct detailed profitability analysis by product, customer, and market segment. Provide insights that drive cost efficiencies and optimize profitability.
- Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure financial reports are accurate, timely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Budget Management: Collaborate with department heads to prepare annual budgets. Monitor budget adherence and recommend adjustments as necessary.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform special financial studies and analyses, including market trends, investment opportunities, and cost reduction strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with accounting, operations, and other departments to gather data and provide financial insights that support operational decisions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration. MBA or relevant master's degree a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or a similar role.
- Proven experience with financial modeling and forecasting in a corporate setting.
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial software like Great Plains or other ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build dashboards in order to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong business acumen.
