Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Data Structured Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex data and telecommunication systems across various environments. Duties
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables for data centers and telecommunication setups
- Perform network wiring, Ethernet connections, and fiber splicing to ensure reliable connectivity across diverse environments
- Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, network analyzers, and RF testers to identify issues and verify system integrity
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on networking equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Avaya systems, and other telecommunications hardware
- Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to accurately install and troubleshoot complex electrical and data systems
- Support network installation projects involving LAN (Local Area Network), VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), and electrical systems compliant with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating technical information clearly and resolving client issues efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar technical role within the telecommunications or data center industry
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LAN, VLANs, and low voltage wiring practices
- Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, cable management (Cat5/Cat6), and network wiring techniques
- Familiarity with telecommunication systems such as VoIP, telephony hardware like Avaya systems, and radio frequency (RF) testing methods
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams accurately
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools including ohmmeters, multimeters, power tools, hand tools, and testing equipment for electrical troubleshooting
- Electrical experience with AC/DC systems and low voltage wiring standards required for safe installation practices
- Knowledge of computer hardware repair and maintenance along with IT infrastructure support in data centers
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients of varying technical backgrounds
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to various job sites as needed
