Job Summary:
Family Preservation provides services to families involved with the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). We are currently seeking service providers that are high quality, family centered and culturally competent. They should be effective in reducing maltreatment, improving coping skills, enhancing family resilience, supporting healthy nurturing relationships, children's physical, mental, emotional, and educational well-being. Services should help to safely maintain children in their homes, prevent children's reentry into foster care, preserve, support, and stabilize families while promoting the well-being of children and families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reports directly to the Director of Family Preservation.
- Understands and follows all agency and DCS policies and procedures.
- Complete family assessments with youth and families as per contract terms.
- Assures an effective safety plan is in place for all identified safety concerns.
- Develops the Initial Treatment Plan with the DCS Family Case Manager (FCM) within the first thirty (30) days of program entry.
- Must meet with the clients and family at least once per week, or more frequently, based on the client's assessed needs. Review the client’s and family’s progress toward treatment goals.
- Coordinates and monitors services for the family in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational and social services.
- Provides in-home supportive services, parenting education, community resources, advocacy and other social service intervention to the families and children.
- Assists in family reunification and preservation efforts with all members of the primary family according to the family's treatment plan and court orders.
- Progress notes and monthly reports are required for each family.
- Follows DCS Service standards.
- Attends monthly supervision meetings and actively participates in the supervision process.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent diploma.
- Must possess a valid driver license and the ability to use private car to transport self and others and must comply with the state policy concerning minimum car insurance coverage.
- Valid Mantoux tuberculin test or chest x-ray within thirty days of employment.
Business and Technical Skills:
No experience required.

- Verbal and written skills to effectively communicate information to various audiences and customers.

- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company

General Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must have ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include days, evenings, weekends.
- Must provide own transportation, have valid driver’s license and driving record must meet insurability requirements.
- Must maintain and provide documentation of auto insurance.
- Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification and must stay current on all other training as defined by Indiana state guidelines, industry accreditation standards and company guidelines.
- Must successfully complete background check at the time of hire (prior to delivery of services to youth) and annually thereafter.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
