Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Summer Young Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire and nurture our young learners during the summer program. In this vital role, you will create a vibrant, engaging classroom environment that promotes early childhood development through innovative lesson planning, hands-on activities, and personalized support. Your leadership will foster a safe, inclusive space where children can explore, learn, and grow with confidence. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on preschoolers’ lives while developing your skills in early education and classroom management. This summer position could turn into a full-time toddler lead position if the candidate is interested in staying on board and meets the appropriate qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and social skills among preschool children.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques.
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports children’s emotional welfare, safety, and well-being.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress and address individual needs related to childhood development and special education.
- Incorporate Montessori methods and other educational philosophies to enhance learning experiences.
- Support children with diverse needs by applying early intervention strategies and adapting lessons for children requiring additional support in areas such as speech or motor skills.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in a classroom or daycare setting is essential.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
- Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, and teaching physical education or literacy education.
- Experience with special education practices or early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Certification in early childhood education or related fields preferred; Montessori training or preschool certification is a plus.
