Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Follow food safety protocols diligently, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Assist with meal assembly, plating, and presentation to ensure visually appealing dishes
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate prep work and timely delivery of orders
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations by regularly cleaning utensils, surfaces, and equipment throughout shifts
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient needs based on daily operations
Requirements
- Prior experience in food preparation or food service environments; restaurant or catering experience preferred but not required
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient portioning
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food safety management practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines
