Position Summary
The Construction Technician is a mobile field installer and punch-out role that moves job to job across our active sites. This is a hands-on position for someone who can install cabinetry, doors, windows, and trim, complete punch-list and finish work independently, and keep crews supplied by picking up and delivering materials. A company vehicle and fuel are provided for all job-related travel.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install cabinetry, interior and exterior doors, windows, hardware, trim, and finish materials to a clean, professional standard.
- Travel job to job as a dedicated punch-out technician — complete punch-list items, touch-ups, and corrections that do not require licensed contractors.
- Pick up, load, transport, and deliver materials, tools, and supplies between suppliers, the shop, and job sites.
- Walk job sites to identify cleanliness, safety, or quality issues; address or report them immediately.
- Assist with coordinating deliveries, material staging, and job site organization.
- Support inspection preparation — ensure sites are clean, accessible, and ready for inspections.
- Document site conditions with photos and written notes; communicate findings to the PM.
- Complete other field support tasks as assigned by the PM or Senior CPM.
Experience
- 2+ years in finish carpentry, installation, or a comparable residential construction trade.
- Proven ability to install cabinetry, doors, windows, flooring, and trim with strong finish quality.
- Basic understanding of residential construction sequencing and trade coordination.
- Comfortable working outdoors and in active construction environments.
Skills
- Handy and capable - completes installs, punch-out items, and minor repairs without supervision.
- Finish carpentry: cabinetry, flooring, trim, doors, windows, appliance install, and paint touch-ups.
- Valid California driver's license and a clean driving record, operates a company vehicle daily.
- Physically capable - able to lift and carry 50+ lbs, load/unload materials, and work on your feet all day.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and job site standards.
- Comfortable using a smartphone for photos, documentation, and communication.
- Able to walk and prep for building inspections.
Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
