ABOUT US
We're a licensed and insured skylight installation company based in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, working on homes and commercial buildings across the New York metro area. We install VELUX and custom skylight systems on everything from Brooklyn rowhouses to Manhattan landmark buildings. Our work is booked out and growing, which is why we need you.
THE ROLE
You'll start as a helper: loading the truck, setting up ladders and safety equipment, carrying materials to the roof, cutting and prepping, cleaning up the job site, and working alongside an experienced installer every day. From day one you'll be learning the two trades that make a skylight mechanic: roofing (flashing, waterproofing, shingle work) and glazing (setting and sealing glass units). Within 1-2 years, if you put in the work, you'll be running your own installs at significantly higher pay.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Load, drive, and unload the truck at job sites around the NYC metro area
- Set up ladders, hoisting, and roof safety equipment
- Carry materials and tools to the roof and keep the job moving
- Assist the lead installer with tear-out, flashing, setting units, and sealing
- Keep job sites clean and treat customers' homes with respect
- Learn the skylight trade hands-on, every single day
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (REQUIRED)
- Clean, valid driver's license — you'll be driving the truck to job sites
- Comfortable working on roofs and ladders; able to lift 50+ lbs
- Some hands-on construction experience (any trade counts — roofing, carpentry, demo, general labor)
- Reliable, on time, and serious about learning a trade
NICE TO HAVE
- Roofing, glazing, window, or waterproofing experience
- OSHA 30 card (or OSHA 10)
- Own basic hand tools
PAY AND SCHEDULE
$18-22 per hour based on experience. Full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours. Raises as your skills grow — skylight mechanics earn well above helper rates. We're hiring now.
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
