We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented independent installer who takes pride in quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Pick up products from our Sarasota warehouse on the day of installation.
- Review your installation schedule daily through our scheduling software.
- Communicate your weekly hours of availability with our administrative team.
- Install custom blinds, shades, shutters, drapery, motorized window treatments, and other Sarasota Window Blinds products according to manufacturer specifications.
- Program motorized shades, remotes, hubs, and smart home integrations.
- Demonstrate product operation and programming to homeowners before leaving the job site.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the installation.
- Contact the assigned salesperson or company owner whenever clarification is needed.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and resolve issues whenever possible.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
- Break down and dispose of all packaging and installation debris unless otherwise directed by the customer.
- Upload clear photographs of every completed installation into our software before closing the job.
- Upload videos demonstrating operation of all motorized products when applicable.
- Immediately report damaged products, missing parts, measurement discrepancies, or installation concerns.
- Represent Sarasota Window Blinds professionally at every customer interaction.
Qualifications
Preferred experience installing:
- Blinds
- Roller Shades
- Solar Shades
- Cellular Shades
- Roman Shades
- Woven Wood Shades
- Zebra Shades
- Plantation Shutters
- Interior Shutters
- Custom Drapery
- Motorized Window Treatments
**Experience with Norman and Lutron products is preferred but not required.
Experience installing exterior shades, retractable screens, hurricane screens, or other hurricane protection products is a plus.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Previous window treatment installation experience
- Reliable cargo van suitable for transporting window treatment products
- Valid driver's license
- Current automobile insurance
- Smartphone capable of using scheduling software and uploading photos/videos
- Reliable internet access
- Ability to safely lift 75+ pounds
- Ability to work on ladders safely
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with our office
Applicants must successfully complete:
- Criminal background check
- Drug screening
Insurance Requirements
Independent contractors must provide proof of:
- $2,000,000 General Liability Insurance
- Workers' Compensation Insurance or a valid Workers' Compensation Exemption
- Current automobile insurance
Scheduling & Payment
- Review your installation calendar daily.
- Communicate your availability with our administrative team.
- Submit invoices to Sarasota Window Blinds weekly.
- Approved invoices are paid within three business days.
