Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. As a Diesel Mechanic at the entry level, you will gain hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and related mechanical systems. Duties
- Assist senior mechanics with diagnosing issues using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles and machinery to identify mechanical problems or potential safety concerns.
- Support repairs on tires, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, shocks & struts, and air brake systems.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to perform repairs and assembly work.
- Help with the replacement of tires, shocks & struts, and perform wheel alignments as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and parts used; assist with equipment maintenance schedules.
- weekend hours will be required
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in heavy equipment operation and vehicle systems repair.
- Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, schematics, and electrical systems is a plus.
- Experience or training related to dealership service or farm machinery is advantageous.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, cranes or other heavy machinery is preferred but not required.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail with good communication skills for working within a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to diesel engine repair, HVAC systems, welding, and equipment maintenance.
