Electrical Commissioning Technician

Augment Professional Services (APS) is seeking Electrical Commissioning Technicians to support startup, testing, verification, and turnover of electrical systems at a major advanced manufacturing facility.
This field-based position will work closely with commissioning engineers, electrical contractors, construction teams, equipment vendors, and client stakeholders to verify systems have been installed correctly and are ready for safe energization and operation.
Key responsibilities may include:

Perform electrical commissioning inspections and functional testing.

Verify installation against drawings, specifications, and commissioning documentation.

Support continuity, insulation resistance, voltage, phase rotation, and other electrical testing as qualified.

Support panel, switchgear, transformer, distribution equipment, and electrical system startup.

Execute commissioning checklists and test procedures.

Document deficiencies and track punch-list items.

Support energization planning and safe work activities.

Troubleshoot electrical system issues during startup.

Coordinate with contractors, engineers, vendors, and operations personnel.

Maintain accurate commissioning and turnover documentation.

Electrical construction, maintenance, testing, startup, or commissioning experience.

Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and equipment documentation.

Understanding of electrical safety and safe energization practices.

Experience using electrical test equipment.

Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment and systems.

Strong troubleshooting capabilities.

Ability to document commissioning activities accurately.

Ability to work extensively in the field.

Journeyman Electrician, electrical technician, or commissioning background.

Semiconductor, cleanroom, data center, automotive, battery, manufacturing, or mission-critical facility experience.

Experience with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, panels, UPS systems, or generators.

NFPA 70E training.
-
NETA or commissioning-related experience.

Experience supporting major facility startup and turnover programs.
