Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital imaging department. This role is responsible for performing computed tomography procedures to support accurate diagnosis and patient treatment. The ideal candidate thrives in a busy environment, demonstrates strong critical thinking skills, and is comfortable working independently during high-volume shifts.
Department Overview
- 5–6 CT scanners total
- 3 main department scanners
- 2 Emergency Department scanners
- 1 dedicated cardiac CT scanner
- Approximately 30 outpatient scans per day
- Up to 200 total scans daily depending on ED volume
- High-acuity patient population with a fast-paced workflow
Schedule
- Night Shift: 12:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- OR
- Mid Shift: 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM or 3:00 PM – 3:00 AMPay
- $30–42/hour based on experience
Responsibilities
- Verify physician orders and patient identification prior to examinations
- Obtain patient history and explain procedures to patients and families
- Operate CT equipment and accessories safely and efficiently
- Select and modify CT protocols to achieve optimal diagnostic imaging
- Position and monitor patients while ensuring comfort and safety
- Recognize and respond appropriately to patient distress or emergencies
- Evaluate image quality and ensure proper documentation and patient identification
- Administer contrast media and perform venipuncture procedures as needed
- Follow radiation safety standards and department protocols
- Perform quality assurance testing and report equipment issues promptly
- Work collaboratively with Radiologists, ED staff, and care teams in a high-volume setting
- Utilize Philips CT scanners
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience
- Active ARRT certification required
- Active Kentucky License required
- BLS certification required
- Advanced ARRT (CT) certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a busy hospital or trauma setting
- Experience with Philips CT scanners
- Strong multitasking and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume emergency-focused department
