Position Summary:
The Sawmill Floor Man plays a critical role in maintaining efficient production flow within the sawmill. This position supports mill operations by handling lumber, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and assisting machine operators and supervisors as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Assist with the movement, sorting, and stacking of lumber and wood products
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris to ensure safe operations
Support sawmill operators by supplying materials and clearing finished products
Inspect lumber for quality and remove defective materials as directed
Operate basic tools and equipment safely and efficiently
Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and OSHA regulations
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Perform general labor duties as assigned to support mill productivity
