Vehicle Operator – Data Collection

Current Location: Sunnyvale, CA | Future Location: San Francisco, CA
We are hiring Vehicle Operators – Data Collection to support a fast-growing autonomous vehicle technology program. This is a hands-on driving role focused on operating test vehicles on predefined routes, collecting high-quality data, and providing feedback to engineering teams.
This is not an autonomous vehicle driving position. Operators will manually drive test vehicles while supporting technology and data-collection operations.
Important Location Information
Operations are currently based in Sunnyvale, California, and candidates must be able to work from this location for the foreseeable future. The role will transition to San Francisco once operations resume, though the exact timing has not yet been confirmed.
All candidates must be willing and able to:
- Work in Sunnyvale, CA for the foreseeable future
- Transition to San Francisco at a later date when required
- Maintain reliable transportation to the assigned work location

AM Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
PM Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)

What You’ll Do
- Drive test vehicles for 4–8 hours per day on predefined routes
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and testing protocols
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness
- Conduct basic software operations to support data-collection missions
- Accurately document observations, issues, and anomalies during test runs
- Provide written and verbal feedback to engineering teams
- Assist with vehicle movement, maintenance coordination, storage, and other operational needs
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current in-state driver’s license and a minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving history, which may be demonstrated through a current or prior license(s) or an official driving history report
- Must have at least 1 year of professional driving experience, such as Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, delivery services, or passenger transport roles
- Must be able to work in Sunnyvale, CA currently and transition to San Francisco at a later date
- Ability to safely drive for extended periods of 4–8 hours per day
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document information
- Comfortable working with computers and technology
- Ability to learn and perform basic software operations
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to follow detailed instructions and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional driving, delivery, rideshare, testing, or vehicle operations experience beyond the minimum requirement
- Previous autonomous vehicle or automotive technology experience is a plus, but not required
- Familiarity with Linux/command-line tools is a plus
- Experience collecting or documenting data in a professional environment

Pay: $28.00 per hour
