Job Summary
SecureCare is a healthcare data analytics company that leverages historical claims data to manage provider networks effectively. The Technical Business Analyst sits at the intersection of the provider and the data. This role translates claims data into actionable insight for providers and internal teams, including medical management, operations, credentialing, and accounting. Responsibilities include building and maintaining performance metrics across providers and clinics, supporting reporting and workflow development, and ensuring data drives oversight, informed decision making, and network performance.
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation: Collaborate with stakeholders across medical management, operations, finance, and technology to gather, document, and validate business and system requirements.
- Data Analysis and Mapping: Profile, map, and validate source data from payer files and internal systems, investigating data questions independently using SQL and other analytical tools.
- Process Analysis and Improvement: Analyze workflows such as file ingestion, claim adjudication, invoice generation, and report card distribution to identify opportunities for automation, error reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Payer Onboarding Support: Support new payer contract and data logic development from requirements gathering through data mapping, configuration, user acceptance testing, and go-live.
- Specifications and User Stories: Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, process maps, data mappings, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams.
- Reporting and Analytics: Design and deliver dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad-hoc analyses that provide leadership with visibility into claim volume, payer performance, and provider and clinic trends.
- User Acceptance Testing: Develop test plans from business rules, execute UAT scenarios, and track defects through resolution.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of trade-offs, timelines, and downstream impacts.
- Compliance and Data Governance: Ensure all work aligns with HIPAA, applicable state privacy regulations, and internal data security and governance standards.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis, healthcare data, and cloud-based systems, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or similar role
- Proficiency in SQL, with the ability to write joins, aggregations, and exploratory queries against relational databases independently.
- Demonstrated ability to document requirements, process flows, and data mappings with clarity and precision.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Sigma Computing, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Familiarity with AWS services (S3, Step Functions, Lambda, Redshift) or comparable cloud-based data pipelines.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards and HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy, quality, and integrity.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and business context for engineers.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
