Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Temporary Registered Dental Hygienist (Temp RDH) to join our vibrant dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional patient care by performing dental hygiene procedures, assisting with patient education, and supporting the clinical team in delivering top-quality dental services. This temporary position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing your expertise in general dentistry to make a positive impact on our patients’ oral health. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help ensure a smooth, efficient, and welcoming experience for every patient you serve. Our regular hygienist is out of the office through at least October, but possibly longer. We currently need coverage on 9/4, 9/18, 10/2, 10/16, and 10/30.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene services including cleaning, scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments with precision and care.
- Take digital dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in accordance with infection prevention protocols.
- Monitor vital signs and assess medical history to support thorough patient evaluations prior to treatment.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, emphasizing education tailored to individual needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Eaglesoft, ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Prepare and sterilize dental equipment following infection control standards, practicing aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination.
- Review documentation for accuracy and support overall infection prevention management within the clinic.
- Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, providing compassionate care while explaining procedures and answering questions clearly.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in good standing.
- .Proven experience working in a dental office environment.
- Proficiency in Eaglesoft.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical records management.
- Familiarity with healthcare infection prevention and control protocols, including HIPAA compliance management.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on dental care practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to infection control standards.
- Knowledge of general dentistry procedures is highly desirable.
