About SkyBlue.com
SkyBlue.com is a premier online insurance provider with 21 years of proven success. We are a fast-growing, nationwide brand looking for an independent technical marketer to take complete control of our growth infrastructure.
Why Join Us?
- Direct Impact: You will run the core revenue-driving systems for an established brand— not a rotating list of generic agency clients.
- Zero Bureaucracy: Work closely with ownership and report directly to the CEO. Enjoy fast decisions and clear visibility without corporate layers.
- Career Growth: As our brand scales, this position offers a clear path to expand your scope into a senior marketing leadership role.
- Work-Life Balance: Stable, predictable schedule. Monday through Friday only—no weekends required.
The Role in Brief
This is a highly technical marketing role focused on data systems, web tools, and lead generation—it is not a basic content creation job. Your main objective is to build, maintain, and optimize the machine that turns paid traffic into active members. You will be the only person running our ad accounts, tech stack, and marketing pipelines, making sure our data loops cleanly from an initial click to a closed policy.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. High-Performance Paid Media
- Manage our in-house Meta Ads and Google Ads accounts independently, without agency support.
- Build out targeted campaign structures, write ad copy, and test fresh creatives.
- Take full accountability for budgets, Cost Per Lead (CPL), and Return on Ad Spend (ROAS).
2. Advanced Funnel & Lead Architecture
- Own the entire user journey from the first ad impression to final CRM entry.
- Build, update, and test landing pages and thank-you page flows to maximize conversion rates.
- Design and maintain automated SMS and email follow-up tracks to nurture incoming leads.
3. Technical Stack Operations & Troubleshooting
- Manage our WordPress websites, HubSpot CRM pipelines, and domain settings.
- Serve as the first line of defense for technical bugs, with no external developer on retainer.
- Resolve daily issues with DNS, hosting, SSL, webhook failures, and form integrations.
4. Analytics, Tracking & AI Efficiency
- Configure precise data tracking using the Meta Pixel, GA4 events, and UTM parameters.
- Provide clear weekly lead reports and monthly KPI summaries (CPL, ROAS, CAC, and member growth) to ownership.
- Proactively source, test, and implement AI tools (like ChatGPT and Claude) to automate routine workflows and speed up output.
What You Will Do Day-to-Day
- Ad Account Management: Handle all audience strategies, bid adjustments, and creative testing for Google and Meta.
- CRM Cleanliness: Set up contact logs, manage lead tagging, and enforce high data standards within HubSpot/GoHighLevel.
- Web Maintenance: Push page updates, manage embed scripts, and handle form integrations on our WordPress sites.
- First-Responder Support: Troubleshoot pixel misfires, tracking windows, and system integration drops immediately.
Candidate Qualifications
Required Experience
- Proven Ad Ownership: Verifiable experience running profitable Meta and Google ad campaigns by yourself, not just assisting a senior manager.
- CRM Expertise: Comfort building complex pipelines, triggers, and automations from scratch in HubSpot, GoHighLevel, or a similar platform.
- Web Savvy: Hands-on familiarity with CMS platforms (like Wix or WordPress), custom code embeds, and third-party app connections.
- Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to read digital marketing metrics (CTR, conversion rates, attrition) and make smart, quick optimization choices.
- AI Adoption: Active, daily use of modern AI models to assist with copywriting, data analysis, and workflow automation.
- Autonomy: A self-directed work style—you find what is broken and fix it without waiting for an assignment.
Technical Competencies
- Google & Meta: Search structures, keyword match types, negative keyword lists, Quality Score, custom audiences, and A/B testing.
- Data & Tracking: GA4 event configuration, Search Console, attribution windows, and custom pixel events.
- Core Infrastructure: Webhook setup and troubleshooting, basic HTML/CSS, DNS/domain records, and hosting fundamentals.
- Preferred Bonus: Experience with short-form video editing, YouTube/podcast production, or social media content creation.
Compensation & Growth
Hourly rate or salary is fully dependent on your demonstrated hands-on experience with paid media channels and CRM infrastructure. This position is built for growth, with ample room to increase your scope and compensation as our brand continues to scale.
