JOB TITLE: Kids Ministry Elementary Coordinator or Director (depending upon experience)
HOURS: Full time - 40 hours/week
REPORTS TO: Family Ministry Pastor

OVERVIEW: The Elementary Coordinator works closely with the Harbor Point Family Ministry Pastor in the implementation and development of the Elementary (K-5grade) ministry. The position is a permanent full time position working 40 hours a week at Harbor Point Church.
WEEKEND PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
● Work during our Saturday 5:00pm, Sunday 8:00, 9:30, & 11:00 services. Working within the team for weekends off and potential for rotations.
● Organize and maintain clean classrooms with proper supplies, materials and curriculum. ● Oversee all aspects of the Elementary (K-5grade) Ministry which includes programming for Large Group, Small Group, and worship.
● Oversee run through prior to service and debrief after service for Large Group teachers and worship leaders.
● Assess general needs during the program and be able to address those needs in an appropriate way.
● Able to effectively communicate with volunteers and parents of children. ● Work with other staff members of the Kids Ministry team as needed.
● Able to lead games or teach the Large Group Lesson in a big group environment
CURRICULUM
● Edit all Large Group Lessons and Small Group Lessons, assessing any changes needed ● Collect/buy any props or craft supplies for the Lesson on a weekly basis ● Creatively thinking and improving the Elementary ministry experience on a weekend
VOLUNTEER RECRUITING AND STAFFING
● Responsible for staffing and recruiting volunteers for Elementary ministry for the weekend services.
● Recruit new leaders and participate in orientation and training meetings. ● Coach, encourage, and shepherd all volunteers.
● Develop volunteer coaches to lead aspects of the ministry.
● Obtain and maintain volunteer information.
● Utilize a database for recruiting, attendance, and maintaining volunteer information and assignments.
GENERAL
● Work closely with the Ministry Manager to input all Roadmap Requests/Comm Requests for any events for the Elementary age group. This could also include working with the Ministry Manager to create and maintain registrations for Elementary events. ● Attend and participate in Tuesday morning staff Storytime (9:00am).
● Attend and participate in monthly Kids Ministry meetings.
● Attend and participate in monthly All Staff meetings
● Attend and participate in Kids ministry special events throughout the year (including but not limited to Easter, Summer Fun Nights VBS, Kids Christmas Choir, and Christmas Eve). ● Work with other team members with cooperation.
● Have a positive attitude and be able to handle difficult situations with a professional demeanor.
● Possess skills to effectively and efficiently use a computer, Microsoft Office programs, copy machine and Ring Central phone system.
● Attend Harbor Point Church.
● Attend any All Staff growth opportunities (book studies, etc.)
PROBLEM SOLVING
● Able to effectively solve problems with parents and volunteers that have questions or concerns with the policies and procedures of the ministry.
DECISION MAKING
● Able to make decisions on the fly and provide input regarding training, encouragement and shepherding needs of the volunteers.
● Evaluate situations and make appropriate decisions on issues regarding parents and volunteer staffing issues.
ALL CHURCH
● Participate in Rooted and be available to facilitate a group once a year.
RELATIONSHIPS
● Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Family Ministry Pastor
● Peer Relationships: Work closely with other coordinators for mutual encouragement, support, and training, developing strategies, and planning. No delegation of job responsibilities is permitted without the direct authorization of the Family Ministry Pastor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
● Intimate and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
● Interpersonal/management skills - able to supervise, encourage and coach volunteers. ● An understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist in caring for God's people in the context of a large local church.
● Demonstrated ability to plan and organize events for the ministry.
● Strong leadership, organizational and time management skills.
● Very strong relational, communication and discretionary skills.
● A degree and/or working in a related field and/or ministry proven experience. ● Maintain a consistent devotional time with God.
● Participation in a support/accountability small group or life group.

Pay: $20.00 - $34.00 per hour
