Job Summary:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for supporting the Company’s financial operations by processing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors. This role plays a key part in maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation (3-way match)
- Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs (checks, ACH, wire transfers)
- Verify pricing, quantities, and approval authorization prior to payment
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive relationships
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and audit requirements
- Support continuous process improvements within the AP function
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, NetSuite) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry
