Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all supplies are ready for procedures
- Assist dentists during examinations and treatments by handing instruments, suctioning, and managing patient comfort
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnosis
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by documenting procedures, patient histories, and treatment notes with precision
- Manage appointment scheduling and coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, including sterilization procedures and safety standards
Skills
- Critical care experience is highly valued to handle emergency situations confidently
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) to respond effectively in urgent scenarios
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures and patient care
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) management systems for accurate documentation
- Knowledge of manual handling techniques to safely assist with patient positioning and equipment setup
- Familiarity with diagnostic radiology procedures for capturing high-quality dental X-rays
- Prior experience in acute care settings or surgical environments such as plastic surgery or general surgery is a plus
