American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of experience, prior travel experience, and TX or compact RN license.

Labor & Delivery unit with high risk antepartum, LDRP, and mother/baby care
-
Facility performs 100-200 births per month
-
Patient ratios: Labor 1:2, Antepartum 1:3, Mother/Baby 1:3
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Epic charting system used
-
Cares for high risk antepartum, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and postpartum patients
-
Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and AWHONN Advanced
-
Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required
-
Epic charting experience preferred
-
Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Skilled in fetal monitoring, IV therapy, and administration of high-risk medications (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline)

Experience with vaginal and cesarean delivery support, including circulating and recovering C-section patients

Competency in antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care and assessment
-
Responsibilities include labor management, fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care
-
Provides newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching
-
Supports patients through medication administration, pain management, and emergency interventions
-
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
-
Travelers residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible

Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler

No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
