Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Millwork Shop Supervisor to lead our team in the production of high-quality millwork products. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing, carpentry, and materials handling, along with excellent leadership abilities. This role requires hands-on involvement in the fabrication and assembly processes while ensuring that safety and quality standards are met.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations within the millwork shop, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery for the fabrication of millwork products.
- Train and mentor shop personnel on best practices in machining, assembly, and materials handling.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to maintain safety standards and ensure proper maintenance.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project specifications and timelines.
- Manage inventory levels of materials and supplies necessary for production.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all products meet company standards before shipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues that may arise during production.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or millwork environment is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various types of machinery and tools effectively.
- Proficiency in carpentry, fabrication, assembly, and machining techniques.
- Familiarity with materials handling processes within a warehouse setting.
- Experience operating forklifts is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating strong leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
