About the Role
Chrome Events is hiring experienced box-truck drivers to lead event deliveries, installations and pickups throughout South Florida.
This is a hands-on leadership position. Drivers are responsible for the truck, assigned crew, route paperwork and client communication. Drivers also participate fully in loading, unloading, setup and breakdown.
All new drivers complete an initial training period working in the warehouse and alongside the Event Setup Crew before being assigned responsibility for a truck and crew.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate company box trucks
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the assigned truck
- Review routes, contracts and job instructions
- Confirm that orders are loaded accurately and secured properly
- Lead and direct the assigned crew
- Participate in loading, unloading, setup and breakdown
- Communicate with clients, venues and dispatch
- Handle delivery paperwork, signatures, photographs and equipment counts
- Report delays, shortages, damage and job-site changes
- Resolve routine job-site problems professionally
- Confirm that equipment and tools are accounted for before leaving each location
- Assist with warehouse preparation and loading when not assigned to a route
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Previous box-truck or similar commercial driving experience
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong communication and basic leadership skills
- Ability to read routes, contracts and written instructions
- Ability to use a smartphone for navigation, calls, photographs and documentation
- Dependable transportation to and from the warehouse
- Reliable attendance
- CDL, forklift, pallet-jack or event-rental experience is helpful but not required
Applicants must meet the age and driving requirements established by the company’s insurance provider.
Physical and Schedule Requirements
Drivers must be able to:
- Perform the same physical work required of Event Setup Crew members
- Regularly lift, carry, push and pull heavy equipment
- Lift approximately 70 pounds or more with assistance when needed
- Sit, stand, walk, bend and work physically for extended periods
- Work indoors, outdoors and in non-climate-controlled warehouse conditions
- Work early mornings, evenings, overnight breakdowns, weekends, holidays and extended shifts
- Travel out of town when assigned
Advancement
Well performing drivers may have opportunities to advance into senior driver, dispatch, fleet coordination or operations leadership roles.
