Duties
- Assist in food preparation by following recipes and portioning ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and quality.
- Operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, grill, flattops, fryers and knives safely and efficiently.
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, chopping, and other food handling techniques using proper knife skills and slicing methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in accordance with food safety standards.
- Support meal assembly and plating to meet presentation guidelines and dietary requirements.
- Follow safety protocols during food handling, cooking, and cleaning processes to prevent accidents or contamination.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and effective communication throughout food production.
Skills
- Proven experience in a kitchen.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment within a restaurant or food service setting.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices, including proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in production environments.
- Skilled in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation to meet nutritional guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork with kitchen staff and other departments.
- Demonstrated ability to execute slicing techniques with precision using knives and other culinary tools.
- Familiarity with the food industry’s best practices for cleanliness, safety standards, and food service operations.
