We are seeking a talented and passionate Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail. Duties
- Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Develop innovative sushi menus and contribute to ongoing menu enhancements through creative recipe development
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all work areas
- Manage ingredient quality, freshness, and proper storage to ensure optimal taste and safety
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and timely delivery of dishes
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation methods
- Monitor inventory levels of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other ingredients, placing orders as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Japanese cuisine
- Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling
- Experience developing curriculum or training staff in culinary arts is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
- Passion for culinary arts, creativity in presentation, and dedication to quality craftsmanship
