Job Summary
Nas Electric is seeking an experienced and dependable Electrician to perform electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work at residential and/or commercial properties throughout New York City (Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island only)
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of electrical systems, is comfortable diagnosing electrical problems, works safely and efficiently, and is familiar with applicable New York City electrical codes and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, panels, and related equipment.
- Diagnose electrical problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Install and replace lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, receptacles, switches, and other electrical components.
- Run conduit, pull wire, and make electrical connections.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Test electrical systems using appropriate meters and testing equipment.
- Identify electrical hazards and correct unsafe conditions.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable NYC electrical codes, building requirements, and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, property managers, and other trades when necessary.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas in a safe and organized condition.
- Follow OSHA and company safety procedures at all times.
- Respond to emergency electrical issues when required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years working as an Electrician (not as an Electrician Helper).
- Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, panels, lighting systems, and electrical equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical problems.
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment and standard electrician tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- OSHA certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to perform physical work for extended periods.
- Ability to work at various job sites throughout New York City.
Compensation: $20-$30/hour depending on experience.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
