About the Role
Buchart Horn is seeking an experienced Civil Designer to support our Water Resources Strategic Business Unit. This experienced role is ideal for a designer who enjoys taking ownership of complex design elements and collaborating closely with engineers to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.
This position supports projects across multiple regional offices and works as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering thoughtful, well-coordinated designs.
What You’ll Do
As a CAD Technician/Designer, you will play a key role in advancing project designs from concept through construction documentation. You will contribute to water and wastewater projects that make a tangible impact in the communities we serve, while continuing to grow your technical and professional skill set.
As part of an Engineering Team, you will:

Develop and coordinate design concepts for land development, stormwater, water and wastewater systems under the direction of a licensed engineer

Perform independent investigations and engineering calculations supporting complex project components

Prepare and coordinate contract drawings, layouts, schedules, and technical details

Review and check design work to ensure accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project requirements

Support project documentation efforts including reports and client-facing materials

Participate in client and project coordination meetings as needed
What We’re Looking For

Technical or Associate Degree in Engineering Technology from an accredited institution

Minimum of 5 years of progressive engineering design experience

Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation with working knowledge of Civil 3D, GEOPAC, or REVIT

Advanced expertise in Civil 3D and Revit preferred

Understanding of applicable design standards, specifications, and codes

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across project teams
