American Traveler is hiring an EKG Technologist (Monitor Technician) for a telemetry unit, requiring at least 1 year of experience, active RN licensure, and prior travel experience.

Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting

Monitors patients on telemetry equipment under general nursing supervision

12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)

13-week contract

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Active RN license required if applicable

Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation and ECG tracings

Good computer skills and ability to build effective working relationships with clinical staff

Prior travel experience required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Responsibilities include continuous telemetry monitoring, maintaining accurate alarm settings, providing daily rhythm strip printouts, and verifying correct date/time on tracings

Perform ECGs as needed and assist in troubleshooting monitor equipment

Alert clinical staff promptly when a patient is in crisis

Maintain supplies for the monitor area

Previous workers at this facility may return after a 6-month separation period; extensions are permitted one time only, for a total of 26 weeks
