Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, including product demos and answering questions about store offerings.
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and handle cash register operations with precision.
- Manage cash handling duties, including balancing cash drawers and ensuring secure cash register operations.
- Support floor recovery by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining a clean, attractive store environment.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote products and increase sales opportunities while delivering excellent customer service.
- Assist with merchandising efforts to highlight seasonal items and ensure product placement aligns with store standards.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills by providing clear information about products, store policies, and promotions in a bilingual capacity if applicable.
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience is preferred, especially grocery store or retail sales roles that involved cashiering or stock management.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math for accurate transactions and cash handling.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and handle phone inquiries professionally.
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or during busy periods.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately for sales transactions and inventory counts.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising principles, and grocery store operations is advantageous.
- Bilingual skills are highly desirable to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
