American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Step Down (IMCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a background in high-volume hospital environments.

Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), unit 5J, of a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center

Unit has 16–10 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy

Experience administering Heparin drips required in this setting

Night shift, 12 hours per shift, 4 shifts per week

No on-call responsibilities

Travelers are expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Block scheduling is generally not approved

Active RN license — Georgia (GA) or Compact license required

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Experience in high-acuity, high-volume hospital environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered

Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations

This is a Level 1 trauma center handling complex, diverse, and severe cases in an inner-city setting
