Maintenance Manager, Corrugated

A corrugated packaging facility in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the plant maintenance department. This is a senior leadership role with full oversight of the maintenance function, including staff supervision, safety strategy, KPI management, and cross-departmental collaboration with other plant managers to support overall facility performance.
Schedule
Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with availability for off-hours response to maintenance emergencies as operational needs require.
Compensation
$130,000 - $160,000 Per Year
What You'll Do
You will provide day-to-day oversight of the maintenance department, leading a team of maintenance staff with a focus on safety, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement. Working alongside other department managers, you will contribute to facility-wide planning and ensure the maintenance function supports production goals across the plant.
Safety strategy is a primary responsibility. You will develop and implement a comprehensive safety program for the department, establish clear and measurable safety goals for all onsite personnel, and build sustainable processes for safety planning and execution. Leading positive change in safety culture and holding the team accountable to those standards are core expectations of the role.
You will develop and maintain an effective facility maintenance plan covering both preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime. Overseeing KPI reporting and delivery is a consistent part of the role, with the expectation that you translate maintenance performance data into actionable improvements that support plant effectiveness and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of maintenance supervisory experience within a corrugated packaging or corrugated box manufacturing facility
- Technical degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute facility maintenance plans in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing and leading a maintenance team with accountability for safety, staffing, and performance
- Strong working knowledge of KPI development, tracking, and reporting in a plant maintenance context
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with production, operations, and other department managers
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs in a corrugated or paper packaging facility
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma methodologies applied to maintenance operations
- Experience with CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) platforms
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety leadership credentials
