Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Journeywoman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems across various construction and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, and industry best practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial buildings to industrial facilities, utilizing your extensive electrical experience to deliver high-quality results. All work will be in Commercial Buildings.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and renovation settings using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring layouts and system configurations
- Troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters, ensuring minimal downtime
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards to ensure safety and compliance
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation systems in industrial environments
- Conduct inspections of electrical installations on construction sites, verifying adherence to safety protocols and technical specifications
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and maintenance person personnel to coordinate installation activities during renovation projects
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including schematics updates and inspection reports
- Ensure all work meets local electrical codes and safety regulations while adhering to project timelines
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial or industrial electrician with a valid journeyman/journeywoman license or equivalent certification
- Extensive hands-on experience with electrical wiring, conduit bending, panel installation, and system troubleshooting
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical diagrams required for complex electrical systems
- Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects in diverse environments
- Knowledge of NEC standards, low voltage wiring practices, high voltage systems, and safety protocols is essential
- Ability to operate hand tools such as wire strippers, pliers, screwdrivers as well as power tools like drills and saws effectively
- Previous experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial automation settings is highly desirable
- Skilled in using testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues accurately
- Demonstrated maintenance person skills including frame carpentry or general repair work is a plus
