Summary
This position is responsible for planning and executing sales goals to produce new accounts.
Essential Functions

- Aggressively identify, pursue and acquire a customer base to generate and maintain profitability to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals
- Evaluate a customer's recycling needs by conducting waste audit (needs analyses) and provide recommendations to fulfill those needs using consultative sales techniques
- Develop strong business relationships in order to grow revenue within existing accounts by identifying new business opportunities for the company
- Develop a clear understanding of customer’s business and critical requirements through frequent communication and visits to customer’s facilities
- Understand the plant's capabilities and use of other company resources to provide value added services to existing customers and to acquire new business
- Practice effective territory and time management to handle customer issues and requests promptly and effectively
- Use strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of personalities from diverse backgrounds
- Provide analysis information on sales and material projections as part of company product, price, and value added service strategies
- Maintain and grow knowledge of all types and grades of recyclable materials and the competitive market environment relative to the industry
- Interface effectively with other departments and maintains open lines of communication with all employees within MARCK Industries

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is frequently required to sit, utilize a telephone to speak with customers. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
- Up to 50% travel in assigned area is required. Occasional travel outside the local area and overnight travel.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous sales experience for service-driven businesses
- Waste or recycling experience
- Sandler sales training
