Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook for an Assisted Living Community to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fine dining and catering, with a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in food preparation and presentation, ensuring that every dish meets our high standards of quality and taste. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This job requires 1 cook to prepare and plate food for up to 39 residents.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and resident preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
- Utilize various kitchen equipment and tools, including knives, to execute cooking tasks effectively.
- Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook in fine dining or catering environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficient in food preparation techniques, including knife skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
- A passion for culinary arts and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.
- ServSafe a plus but not required
- Ensure all procedures are conducted following required Health Department and Company regulations
- Check all food temperatures prior to meal service
