Job Summary
Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) providing personal supports in St. Augustine South! This part-time role offers a flexible schedule, with shifts 3:30p-6:30pm. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities and other needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. Your compassionate support will help enhance daily living, promote safety, and foster community engagement. This position is ideal for energetic, caring individuals eager to make a positive impact while gaining valuable experience in home and community care.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support clients during meal preparation and feeding to ensure proper nutrition and hydration
- Monitor health status by taking vital signs and observing patient conditions; report changes promptly
- Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA privacy standards to ensure safety and compliance
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer devices to assist with mobility and prevent injury
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring adherence to health protocols
- Engage clients in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and independence
Requirements
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or in assisted living environments is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, First Aid, and basic nursing skills is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health or behavior
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, and HIPAA regulations ensures responsible caregiving
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships with clients
- Valid certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications such as Alzheimer’s or Memory Care are a plus
- Required to pass a level 2 background.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
