**PAY:** COMPETITIVE PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE
Job Responsibilities Pediatric Dental Assistant:
- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures
- Assisting Dentist with procedures when necessary: ex: preventative, restorative, GA, conscious sedation, nitrous, etc.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Instruct patients on proper dental hygiene practices
- Perform prophylaxis
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Caring for dental equipment
- Maintaining dental equipment inventory
- Effectively communicate with patients, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive dental experience for patients.
- Collaborate with the dental team to maintain a child-friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the dental office.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Experience 1-3 years (preferred)
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry techniques
- Must be compassionate, patient-centric, and comfortable working with children of all ages.
- Friendly disposition
- Optimistic/cheerful/can-do attitude
- Ability to learn new things quickly
- Possess great understanding of dental terminology
- Have excellent communication and written skills
- X-Ray & Coronal Polishing Certification
- CPR
- Ability to perform patient assessments
- Orthodontic assisting experience
- Experience with Dexis & Dentrix software preferred
- Understanding of dental coding practices
