A sophisticated boutique law firm, seeks a
Litigation Assistant/Paralegal to support the Litigation Practice Chair. This role will provide support in both administrative and substantive legal work in a fast-paced and growing practice. While billable hour opportunities may arise, they are not required.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and juggles competing priorities with ease. This full-time position will be based in Livingston, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with case management from initial filing through resolution.
- Manage all aspects of state and federal electronic filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Prepare, proofread and format legal documents, pleadings, motions, and briefs with meticulous attention to detail.
- Conduct basic legal research and assist with summarizing relevant case law and statutes.
- Assist with discovery requests, responses, and depositions by gathering and organizing materials.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, correspondence, and litigation documents, ensuring efficient document management.
- Prepare trial exhibits and presentations.
- Coordinate with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Manage attorney calendars and schedules, schedule depositions, hearings, and client meetings.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal
- Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies or similar field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases
- Strong technological aptitude and comfort learning new systems
- Exemplary organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional client service
