All interested applicants are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ). Please provide direct responses to each of the numbered items listed below. Applicants must number and include the full text of the SOQ items in their response. Please include specific examples of your education, training, and/or experience. SOQs should be limited to a maximum of two (2) pages, single-spaced, twelve-point Arial font.
1. Based on your understanding of the duty statement, describe in detail your experience, educational background, and qualifications as it relates to the duties for this position, with emphasis on experience related to personnel and workers’ compensation, which you believe makes you the most qualified for this position.
2. Describe in detail your experience that demonstrates knowledge of CalHR as well as its major partners, including the State Personnel Board (SPB), CalPERS, Employment Development Department (EDD), State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF), and State Controller’s Office (SCO), including experience representing the organization to these entities as well as partnering with other departments.
3. Describe in detail your experience, educational background, and qualifications as it relates to Workers’ Compensation, Reasonable Accommodations, (Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Leave of Absences, Options Letter, and Fitness for Duty.
4. Describe your experience writing resource and policy documents and applying practices, procedures and policies to support your work and the work of others.
