ABCO Automation is seeking an organized and highly adaptable Automation Field Service Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be the central hub connecting our clients, project managers, and field service engineers. You will manage complex technical schedules and ensure our field team has the resources required to install, program, and repair advanced automation systems safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Technical Dispatch & Scheduling: Coordinate and optimize the calendars of field technicians, matching specific skill sets (e.g., PLCs, robotics) to client emergency repairs or preventative maintenance projects.
- Logistics & Material Management: Source, order, and track specialized automation parts, components, and tools. Arrange travel, vehicle rentals, and lodging for field personnel.
- Work Order Administration: Create, track, and close out work orders. Ensure accurate documentation of service reports and commissioning checklists.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients facing critical system downtime. Provide timely, transparent updates regarding technician arrival times and part shipments.
- Compliance & Safety Tracking: Ensure all field staff meet client-specific safety site requirements. Upload necessary compliance documents to contractor management databases.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in field service coordination, dispatch, or project logistics. Experience in industrial automation, robotics, electrical systems, or HVAC is highly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with field service management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, syteline) and standard office suites.
- Problem-Solving Capabilities: Exceptional ability to multitask under pressure, shift schedules quickly during unexpected factory downtime events.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for managing interactions between engineering personnel and enterprise clients.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or a technical field is a strong plus.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Primarily a fast-paced office or remote desk setting with telephone and computer usage.
- Occasional exposure to manufacturing or industrial warehouse environments during site visits (PPE may be required).
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
