Summary
The Youth Worker and Case Manager provides activities as assigned based on specific site and population served (children). The Youth Worker provides behavior and respite management and related clinical activities to children. Position may include assistance with crisis intervention for at-risk families. The Youth Worker is expected to cooperate as a team member in the provision of a therapeutic environment that encourages children's emotional growth.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist children with following routines, encouraging self-care, assisting them to participate in activities, social events, self-control, positive peer interactions, personal responsibility and much more.
- Provides recreation, leisure , and pro-social skills for clients both individually and in groups
- Serves as a children advocacy
- Provide supervision and a safe environment to childre
- Provide behavior intervention, follow approved behavior plans and implement positive praise and direction
- De-escalate unsafe or inappropriate behaviors or responses
- Support and coach life skills and educational goals and activities
- Advocates for the needs of the children to accomplish treatment objectives
- Document progress and daily responses to intervention in medical records
- Provides services to clients as a case manager.
- Responsible for all aspects of the clinical records, provides crisis services and assist with service coordination for the client.
- Provides transportation as needed.
- Work with other agencies to provide wrap services including going in the home and/or school to prevent out of home placement
- Provide health promotion.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
- Interest in working with children and families.
- Current Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Fingerprint Clearance.
- Comply with a Drug Free workplace.
- Knowledge and ability to define the needs of the customer served.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
