Position Description:
Now hiring Class “A” CDL drivers for operating end dumps, side dumps and doubles and hauling materials to our job sites. Must possess a commercial drivers license; Class “A” CDL with tanker, doubles/triples endorsements helpful. As part of a South Dakota Department of Transportation requirement, individuals must be tested for drugs prior to any commercial driving for the company and placed in our random drug testing program.
Duties include: transporting equipment, hauling materials, tarping the load when necessary, conducting daily safety and maintenance inspections of the truck, and reporting of any problems to the hauling crew leader. A driver is required to perform other related duties that may be necessary such as using safe driving habits and practices, always being aware of his/her surroundings, and promoting safety for Company personnel and the general public. The ability to operate heavy construction equipment is a plus. Work locally and be home most evenings.
Requirements:
Must have a good driving record
Must be dependable and practice safety at all times
Operate tractor-trailer combination, including doubles (and triples, where applicable) and/or water/tanker trucks:
Perform daily pre/post-trip and safety inspections on equipment
Hook/unhook trailers to/from a tractor and/or trailer
Verify and complete daily documentation and reports
Comply with hazardous material regulations and procedures
Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch including, but not limited to, the following: delays, arrivals and equipment problems, as required
Demonstrate internal and external safety practices
Comply with all applicable State and Federal laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Perform other duties as required
