Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping to ensure readiness for cooking and plating
- Follow recipes meticulously to maintain consistency and quality across all menu items
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, slicers, and fryers safely and efficiently
- Assist in cooking tasks including grilling, sautéing, and assembling dishes according to established procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations by adhering to strict sanitation standards and cleaning protocols throughout shifts
- Support the kitchen team by communicating effectively with chefs and other staff to coordinate meal preparation and service
- Ensure proper food handling practices are followed at all times to uphold food safety management standards
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Background in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards in production environments with an emphasis on hygiene and sanitation practices
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques including slicing, portioning, and plating
- Skilled in operating various kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency during busy periods
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and support team efforts
- Catering experience or familiarity with serving large groups is a plus for this fast-paced role
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
