The Hoppy Monk is an independent and family-owned pub that focuses on supporting independent breweries and distilleries. We have a scratch kitchen and try to source organic produce whenever possible from local farms.
Job Description
Our ideal line cook is ambitious, self-driven, curious and energetic. well groomed and maintains a proper hygienic appearance. All cooks must work quick, cleanly, and proficiently. The line cooks are responsible for cooking and plating all food on the line in an impeccable and timely manner. Line cooks must set up, prepare, organize and clean their stations at all times. Line cooks must follow all health department guidelines. Line cooks must communicate with each other at all times. Kitchen equipment must be handled properly and put back in its place. Cooks must enjoy their time at The Hoppy Monk!
Job Requirements
1+ years working and excelling in a kitchen environment.
Interest in gourmet food paired with craft beer.
Knowledgeable or interested in modern cooking techniques, ingredients and equipment.
Comply with all health & safety regulations.
Must follow standardized recipes at all times.
Reliable transportation.
Must have a valid phone line or any means of communication where we can reach you.
The ability to work long hours and non-predictable shifts in a fast paced and sometimes chaotic environment, while offering the very best food to our patrons.
Valid Food Handler's card required by local health department.
The ability to work the assigned schedule and comply with the company’s timekeeping policy.
Must be flexible with all job duties.
Must accomplish all duties given by either the sous chef or executive chef.
