Role Summary
The Lead Designer is accountable for the successful execution of residential design projects from Design Proposal Acceptance through construction completion. This includes design concepts, design revisions and refinement, managing project schedules, overseeing specialists, permitting, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a smooth and professional client experience.
High-Level Responsibilities and Expectations
- Drive the architectural vision from schematic design through construction documentation for high-end residential projects
- Manage all phases of design, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate closely with internal teams, contractors, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing consistent updates and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain comprehensive project records, including photos, video walkthroughs, status updates, and schedules
- Monitor design quality and proactively address issues to uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship and design integrity
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture
- Highly proficient using Autodesk Revit
- 3+ years of experience in architectual design
- Ability to produce comprehensive, build-ready construction documents.
- Strong creative vision with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management & organization—balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative mindset; ability to work with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Problem-solving and adaptability in fast-paced project environments.
- Confidence to take ownership of the role and be accountable for outcomes
