Lumiere Patisserie & Cafe is a new artisan patisserie and cafe opening September 2026 in Leander, TX - cakes, pastries, custom orders, and a full cafe, crafted in-house daily. We are hiring our founding team.

The Role
Hands-on production leadership with room for creativity. Our core recipes, SOPs, and production systems are already built; your main role is to execute them consistently, plan weekly production, manage inventory and ordering, and lead a small team. Once you understand our standards and workflow, there will be opportunities to contribute ideas for seasonal items, specials, and menu improvements.
Pay: $21-$24/hr depending on experience, with a 90-day review
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site, Mon-Fri ~7am-3pm, Weekends Off
What You'll Do
- Lead weekly production, batching, baking, and prep — cake layers, tarts, mousse entremets, trifles, croissants, and more — so daily case items and custom orders are ready on schedule.
- Handle the weekday morning bake-off and get the day’s items display-case ready
- Oversee finishing, assembly, and custom cake production to Lumière’s quality standards
- Monitor bake times, temperatures, and product appearance for consistency
- Manage the production schedule, pars, inventory, and ordering
- Maintain proper ingredient rotation, stocking, quality checks, and freshness standards
- Maintain production logs and waste tracking, and flag equipment or supply issues early
- Keep the kitchen clean alongside the team, including clean-as-you-go habits, workstations, sanitized equipment, and opening/closing checklists
- Train and support the Assistant Baker and help cross-train team members on basic production tasks as needed
What You Bring
- 3-5+ years bakery, pastry, or food-production experience, including production planning or leading others (pastry or baking degree not required)
- Must be 18 or older
- Strong baking fundamentals and a sharp eye for consistency
- Comfortable with commercial mixers and scaling recipes up or down
- Dependable, punctual, self-directed; early-morning availability
- Texas Food Handler card, or ability to get one before starting
- Able to stand and move for full shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and work comfortably around hot ovens, with or without reasonable accommodation
Nice To Have
Bread/artisan experience, high-volume or custom-order production, combi ovens such as Rational, and Indian/Korean-inspired fusion baking, which is a small part of our menu.
