The Machine Operator is an experienced incumbent who safely and accurately operates CNC routers. The Operator must have good dexterity and a mechanical aptitude when operating the Saw machines, hoist, and when changing cutting tools. The Machine Operators must maintain a sense of safety and focus in a noisy, wet, and congested work environment.
I. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Reviews and confirms job packet specifications, drawings and templates
· Safely moves material, via crane onto and off works station and repositions as necessary
· Performs overhead crane safety and performance inspections to ensure no leaks or inoperable conditions
· Fabrication of orders to coincide with the fabrication schedule
· Efficiently operate the machines in order to attain accuracy for each job
· Removes waste material and debris from tables as necessary
· Visually inspects and loads cut pieces onto staging cart along with job packet in queue for polishing station if necessary
· Confirm Production Log is updated to reflect status is active and in production
· Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment
· Keeps work area clean and organized
II. Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
· Learn and demonstrate skill on new equipment
· Learn new skills and become certified in multiple areas in order to rotate within the facility
PRINCIPAL CHALLENGES:
The Machine Operator must perform safely and competently while operating the fabrication machines; and also maintain product quality. The Operator must cross-train to gain additional skills and certifications on additional machines. Short term challenges may include learning and applying best methods to tasks, and acclimating to a fast-paced, wet and noisy work environment. The Operator must utilize the senses of seeing, hearing, and touching when operating fabrication machines.
FUNCTIONAL GUIDANCE:
The Operator will receive any necessary guidance and supervision from the Shop Supervisor; if there is some uncertainty concerning specifications for a job layout, they may reach out to the Shop Supervisor. However, the expectation is that the Bridge Saw Operator is capable of independently dealing with most situations that may arise during production.
III. Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent
· Possesses good math, reading comprehension, spatial awareness and problem solving skills
· Good computer skill; AutoCad, Microsoft savvy
· Safety focused around heavy equipment
· Demonstrated track record of good attendance
· Can remain focused while performing detailed tasks in a challenging work environment (dusty, noisy, congested)
· Self directed and can work independently with little supervision
· Effectively prioritizes work and possesses good time management skills
· Able to stand for long periods of time and be able to lift 70 pounds
· Demonstrated track record of good attendance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
