General Position Description
The Worship Pastor at Crossway Church is responsible for leading the church family to
worship God in spirit and in truth, and in a way that fulfills our mission to glorify God by
making disciples of Jesus Christ who go and make disciples.
Specific Duties
Build upon the tradition of excellence in music and worship at Crossway while leading the
ministry into the future.
Plan worship services (8am, 9:30am, & 11:15am) as a coordinated eMort with the Lead
Pastor and his sermon series.
Will collaborate with Executive Pastor/Producer and other outside worship leaders such as
LU Students, Regent Students, and various groups when planning weekly worship
gatherings and special events.
Meet weekly with your worship planning team to plan services with prayer, creativity, vision,
attention to detail, and excellence. The worship planning team includes the Lead Pastor/
Producer and Executive Pastor/Producer.
Lead worship that engages an intergenerational church family and community, drawing
from a variety of musical tools including band, vocals, praise choir, and orchestra.
Engage the unreached community evangelistically through excellent music.
Create an environment where gifted and talented musicians and vocalists desire to be part
of the worship ministry at Crossway. Draw them to your leadership and shepherd them to
lead the church family in worship with you.
Recruit, audition, and rehearse musicians and vocalists, and build teams to involve many
people in the worship ministry of the church.
Oversee and develop age-appropriate music and worship opportunities for children and
students.
Oversee, develop, and provide leadership to the media and production staM.
