Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the reliability and safety of our fleet of diesel vehicles, including tractor-trailers.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including air brake systems and hydraulic components.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct brake repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Operate hand tools and diagnostic equipment to carry out repairs.
- Work on various types of vehicles, including trucks and trailers, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance vehicle performance.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe.
Requirements
- Proven experience in diesel mechanics or automotive repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on diesel engines, hydraulics, and brake systems.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Familiarity with tractor-trailer systems is preferred.
- Ability to transmit technical information clearly and effectively.
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Pay Rate is negotiable if you have your own service truck.
