Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and hardworking Paving Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting with paving projects, ensuring smooth operations on construction sites, and supporting heavy equipment operation. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and layout of paving sites, including setting up barriers and signage for safety
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks under supervision
- Support paving activities by spreading asphalt or other materials accurately and efficiently
- Perform utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving work begins
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks on schedule and meet project specifications
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment like Caterpillar machinery to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction site work or related roles is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, grader, and front loader truck is highly desirable
- Ability to operate dump trucks safely and efficiently on construction sites
- Basic knowledge of utility locating techniques and safety procedures
- Strong work ethic with a focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship
- Physical ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions; comfortable working outdoors for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license; experience operating Caterpillar equipment is a plus
