Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team and drive the success of our retail operations. Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
- Lead, motivate, and supervise team members to deliver outstanding customer service and meet sales goals.
- Manage employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team performance.
- Coordinate inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales.
- Handle purchasing decisions, POS (Point of Sale) transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping duties with accuracy.
- Conduct interviewing and recruiting processes to build a talented and diverse workforce.
- Oversee shift management, employee scheduling, payroll processing, and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain excellent communication skills with staff and customers while ensuring adherence to store standards.
- Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store visibility and sales.
- Ensure inventory control through regular audits, stock rotation, and shrink reduction measures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of retail math, sales management, merchandising, and inventory control techniques.
- Excellent negotiation, communication skills, and bilingual/multilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team management and employee development.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and purchasing protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently through effective time management and organizational skills.
- Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is preferred but not required.
- Exceptional customer service skills with phone etiquette and conflict resolution abilities.
