Job Overview
IT Tech 2 serves as a change agent and champion of new educational technologies, aids in an innovative way to support our students, instructors and staff. This role interacts with stakeholders and collaborating to find scalable solutions to student needs. User support and guidance to end-users on advanced technical issues. Assist with configuring and troubleshooting workstations, printers, and mobile devices. Maintenance of website design, updates, modifications. Creating multimedia content, such as video content, photographs, event filming, and marketing material.
Duties
- Provides permissions and controls to students and instructors in Canvas & Zoom to promote the best use of technologies, user experience, and content.
- Serves as a primary technical support provider to students and instructors in the virtual classroom, with an emphasis on instructional features, learning management instruction and their uses, and vendor-specific tools which enhance and individualize the course content delivery for each specific subject and course.
- Troubleshoots issues within courses and can implement appropriate solutions. Explores the problems and complexities of each unique course and project in order to provide appropriate guidance and advice to the user
- Creates and establishes social platforms for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by regularly creating platform-specific content with text posts, video and graphics.
- Endeavors to enhance the user experience of our courses and to improve the overall course development process.
- Collaborates with stakeholders, various departments, LTS administrators, external vendors, and other technology teams to optimize the learning experience.
- Creates content and documentation to assist with implementing educational technologies, tools, and workflows. Creates content using a variety of multimedia, including infographics, video and audio editing, and interactive modules.
- Stays up to date on emerging learning technologies.
- Special projects from Executive Director or management
Qualifications
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with current learning management systems (e.g. Blackboard, Canvas, Zoom)
- Demonstrated creative use and knowledge of experience with various technologies including, but not limited to: audio and video production equipment and video-on-demand systems, multimedia hardware and software, computer-based multimedia production and video and audio production
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Must have a high comfort level with learning and trying new technology in a fast-paced ever-changing environment
- Eager to learn, grow and contribute to the dynamic IT team
- Must be able work independently with little supervision, as well as in a team
- Other duties and special digital projects as assigned by the Executive Director
- Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in communications, new media or equivalent work experience in the social media field
- Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a content or social media role
- Experience working in telecommunications or another technical field is preferred but not required
- Should be very detailed oriented
- Licenses and Certifications: Current and active California driver’s license required.

- Demonstrated ability to work online in both synchronous and asynchronous environments.
- Thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability to use software applications such as: Canvas, Zoom, Google Apps, MS Office, Adobe, and Web Design software.
- Knowledge and skills to embedded technology modules to actively support student success.
- Knowledge and ability to research, collect, compile, organize, analyze, interpret, and evaluate data and make verbal and written presentations based on these data
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
